The New York Yankees got a superb performance from right fielder Aaron Judge, but the Kansas City Royals still won the game, 7-6. Judge went 2-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Wilmer Flores earned the save, his 4th, for the Royals. Kansas City is now 87-59.

Had Nick Loftin not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Loftin hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 7-6, in favor of the Royals.

"First place," said Royals manager Matt Quatraro. "This is right where we want to be."
