Vosler Belts 3 HR Against Iowa

It was a terrific day for Jason Vosler, who ripped three home runs at Principal Park, and a disappointing one for the Gwinnett Stripers who, nevertheless, dropped the game, 11-8, to the Iowa Cubs.

"He was instant offense," Gwinnett skipper Mike Fowler said. "Jason really put on a show. He more than did his part. We just didn't come through with hits at the right time to win the game."

For the day, Vosler collected 4 hits in 5 at-bats, scored 3 runs and had 4 RBIs.

In the postgame press conference he told the reporters he has always liked to hit at Principal Park.

"I got some good pitches to hit and turned on them real good," he said.

Jason Vosler hit a solo-shot off Cade Horton in the 1st, flied out in the 3rd, hit a two-run home run off Cade Horton in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, walked in the 10th, walked in the 13th and hit a solo-shot off Jimmy Herget in the 15th.

So far this season, Vosler has recorded a .319 batting average with 123 hits, 43 home runs, 99 RBIs, 88 runs scored and a .412 OBP.
International League Announces September's Top Pitcher

It's official!
Will Warren of the Scranton WB RailRiders is the International League Pitcher of the Month. In September he dominated the league with 4 wins and 1 loss in 5 starts. In 34 innings of work Warren chalked up 37 strikeouts, 8 walks, a 2.38 ERA and held opposing hitters to a .238 batting average.

On his stats sheet for the year Warren shows a 12-8 record, 29 starts, 147 innings, 142 strikeouts and a 5.82 ERA.
Jones of Scranton WB IL Batter of the Month

Scranton WB RailRiders fans may just have witnessed a star player blossoming before their eyes in September.

Spencer Jones put up a remarkable month at the age of 24 and has been named the International League Batter of the Month.

For the month, Jones hit .429 with 8 home runs, 25 RBIs and 30 runs scored.

Currently Jones is batting .268 with 17 home runs, 52 RBIs and 70 runs scored.
