Astros Win 14-13 Walk-Off

The Houston (GCL) Astros withstood an impressive performance by New York N (GCL) left fielder Slade Wilks to defeat the Mets, 14-13, at CoolToday Park. Wilks went 3 for 6 with 2 home runs. He scored 4 runs and drove in 3. The Astros, now 2-0, have been playing some good baseball.

The Astros were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth when shortstop Trey Dawson turned a 2-2 fastball from Jackson Baumeister into a 2-run single. The walk-off single electrified the CoolToday Park denizens and sent the Astros home with a thrilling 14-13 win.

"It was one of those games where both teams were swinging the bat well," Dawson said.
