The Cincinnati Reds got a magnificent performance from pitcher Clarke Schmidt, who stifled the Texas offense en route to a 3-1 Reds win at Globe Life Field. Texas falls to 16-13.

Judson Fabian took Todd Collins deep in the top of the fifth. His 2-run home run put the Reds on top, 3-1. In all, Fabian had 1 single in addition to the home run, while going 2 for 4.

"We put it together today and came out with the win," Schmidt said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
