Flora Is King of Swing: Goes Deep 3 Times
Wednesday, April 16th , 2025
Max Flora brutalized the Kansas City Royals pitching staff, launching three home runs in today's 11-10 victory at Yankee Stadium. The New York Yankees first baseman was red-hot, the ball just exploding off his bat all day.
"I don't try to hit homers," he said later. "I try to go out there and put a good swing on the ball, and sometimes it is going to go out of the park. I didn't try to hit the first one or the second one or the third one."
For the game, he went 4-for-5 with 3 RBIs and 4 runs scored.
"Too much Max Flora today," Royals manager David Eckstein said. "That's my assessment of the game. That's what our problems boiled down to."
Max Flora hit a solo-shot off Kenny Funkhouser in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Matt Diemer in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Addison Reed in the 9th.
Flora is batting at a .254 pace this season, picking up 17 hits in 67 at-bats with 7 home runs, 13 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
