Cincinnati Reds Ship Fawkes to Seattle

The Cincinnati Reds addressed a concern today, coming to terms with the Seattle Mariners on a trade that will send 23-year-old minor league RHP Taylor Fawkes and $889,082 in cash from the Reds to the Mariners in exchange for 26-year-old minor league LHP Matthew Smoral and 21-year-old minor league LF José Rodríguez.
Since making his league debut Smoral has made 155 appearances and nailed down 6 saves with 121 Ks in 107 innings. In his career he has a record of 2 wins and 11 losses and a 4.29 ERA.

The ballots are counted and the results are in. Unfortunately, no player was elected to the Hall of Fame this year. The top vote getter was Charlie Blackmon, who received votes from 33.3% of eligible electors.
The full voting results are included here. Players require 75% of ballots cast to be elected to the Hall, may stay on the ballot for up to 5 years if they receive at least 5% of the votes. Players must be retired for 2 years before they are eligible for induction to the Hall of Fame.

Chicago Trades Taylor for San Diego's Silva

In a move that has left many fans wondering, the Chicago White Sox have traded 20-year-old minor league LHP Joe Taylor to the San Diego Padres. In return, the White Sox receive 26-year-old minor league RHP Cisco Silva.
Over his career Silva has no saves with a 1-7 record and a 7.49 ERA.
