Arizona starter Andrew Morales put a stranglehold on the Texas offense. The right-hander had complete command of his cutter in leading the Diamondbacks to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Morales, now 1-2. He tossed 6.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 3. The Rangers drop to 13-16 and continue their inconsistent start to the 2023 season.
Arizona used the bat of Daz Cameron to get the win. The center fielder hammered a 3-run home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Diamondbacks ahead, 4-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Morales told the Arizona Today.
