The Altoona Curve and Akron RubberDucks played an exciting game.

Altoona picked up a win at Canal Park, bumping off the Akron RubberDucks, 4-3. Pitcher Lawrence Laffe was a major reason the Curve emerged victorious. George Clark recorded his 4th save for Altoona.

Altoona relied on the hitting of Charlie Brewer to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Curve on top, 4-1. For the game, Brewer had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"Both teams played hard," said Altoona manager Luis M. Lopez.

The win gives Altoona a record of 11-7.
