Milwaukee Wastes Great Game by Martínez
|
The Milwaukee Brewers got a superb performance from shortstop Carlos Martínez, but the San Francisco Giants still won the game, 6-5. Martínez went 3 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. The win belongs to Gilbert Roe in relief. His record improves to 1-2. Kadir Hashim took the loss for Milwaukee. The save went to Dave Bland, his 8th this season.
San Francisco took a 5-4 lead on Spencer Torkelson's 3rd double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Torkelson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Milwaukee pitcher Ben Landoni shaking his head.
"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Torkelson told a San Francisco Daily reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."
San Francisco sits at 14-18.
