The Trenton Thunder picked up a win at Mercer County Waterfront Park, knocking off the Portland Sea Dogs, 9-1. Starting pitcher Marshall Douglas played a key role in the triumph. Eric Koch earned the save for Trenton, his 1st of the year. The Sea Dogs fall to 7-12 and continue their lackluster start to the 2024 season.

The Thunder got a big at-bat from shortstop Alex Mooney. For the game, Mooney was 3 for 5 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the bottom of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 3rd double of the season gave Trenton a 3-1 lead.

Mooney told a Trenton Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
