|
Hudson Valley beat Brooklyn on the strength of starter Johnny Allen's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a win, 6-3. Hudson Valley reliever Sam Young was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Ramón Castillo took the loss. Héctor Ávila converted his 1st save in 1 tries.
Hudson Valley used the clutch hitting of Sidney Paul to capture the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run double in the top of the 18th inning to give the Renegades the lead, 5-3. For the game, Paul had 1 single and 1 double in 2 at-bats.
"We didn't go down without a fight," said Brooklyn manager Randy Tomlin.
Hudson Valley has now won 5 games in a row.
