Baseball fans saw a good contest between the Bowie Baysox and Akron RubberDucks.

The Baysox grabbed a win, 4-2, at Canal Park, overcoming a fine effort from Akron pitcher Nick Morreale. Morreale went 5.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Chris Jones snagged the win in relief. In 2.2 innings, the right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit. He's now 1-0 on the season.

Bowie used the timely hitting of David Hamilton to seize the win. The second baseman stroked a 2-run single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Baysox on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

Hamilton called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."

The RubberDucks drop to 10-10 and continue their mediocre start to the 2024 season.
