Sea Dogs Drop Flying Squirrels, 3-2

The Portland Sea Dogs and Richmond Flying Squirrels played a tight game with the hosts claiming a hard-fought win.
Portland Sea Dogs starter Evan Musselman was in the groove. He led his team to a win over the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 3-2. The save was credited to P.J. Desjardien, his 4th.
Mike Martens broke a 0-0 tie in the bottom of the fifth with a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It put the Sea Dogs in front, 1-0. For the game, Martens drove in one run.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Portland manager Dusty Wathan said.
With the loss, Richmond sinks to 14-8.
