Phillies Win Divisional Series
|
The Philadelphia Phillies took time to celebrate with the Philadelphia fans who stuck around after the game, following the team's Divisional Series triumph over the San Francisco Giants.
Members of the Phillies hung around chatting, high-fiving and taking pictures with the Philadelphia fans in attendance at Oracle Park, long after the last pitch had been thrown in their 8-2 win to seal the series 3-1.
"We've got great fan support," said first baseman Ryobe Kamida. "Whether we're at home or on the road, the fans support us. So we wanted to show them how important that is to us. Some San Francisco fans that were there even congratulated us on the win."
For the series, Kamida hit .353 with a .389 on-base percentage. He had 2 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 4 runs.
Things weren't so cordial on the Giants side of things. Their clubhouse was closed to media after the game and all players and coaches quickly dressed and left the stadium after the end to their season.
The Philadelphia Phillies will play against the Cincinnati Reds in the next round. Cincinnati won their series against the Miami Marlins 3 games to 1. The League Championship Series is scheduled to begin on October 11th , 2024.
