Sea Dogs Win at Richmond, 7-2
|
Portland took on Richmond in front of a lively crowd.
Portland Sea Dogs starter Bryce Elder turned in a top-notch performance against the Richmond Flying Squirrels at The Diamond. The result was a win for the Sea Dogs, 7-2. Elder picked up the win for Portland, going 5.2 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 1-0.
In the bottom of the seventh, Conner Uselton stood in the box, looking for a pitch to hammer. The Flying Squirrels were trailing 7-2, but had the bases loaded. That's when Paul Richan made a terrific pitch and Uselton struck out. Gone was the dream of a Richmond comeback.
The loss puts Richmond at 2-1.
