Home Field Advantage: Smith, Atlanta Open Divisional Series with Win
The Atlanta Braves started the Divisional Series in style today, downing the visiting Milwaukee Brewers at Truist Park by a score of 9-7 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Braves catcher Doug Smith went 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2.

With two out in the bottom of the fourth, Millard Thomas barreled up a fastball from Cody McCutc. The result was a 3-run home run, putting the Braves in front, 4-3.

"Hitting, winning. It's just contagious," said Smith.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Truist Park in Atlanta.
