Phillies Lose to Diamondbacks, 9-3
|
The home crowd had a good time watching the Philadelphia Phillies and Arizona Diamondbacks get after it.
Rodney Scott drove in 3 runs to help Arizona hand Philadelphia a loss. The final score was 9-3. Scott had 2 singles and 1 triple for the Diamondbacks. He also scored 2 runs. Arizona starter Andrew Morales was credited with the win after throwing 104 pitches over 6 innings. His record now stands at 4-4.
Scott contributed a big hit, a bases-clearing triple, for Arizona in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 1-0, Scott took a fastball from Matt Barnes and stroked the triple to left-center. His 2nd triple of the season allowed the Diamondbacks to leap in front, 3-1.
"It was a solid team effort," said Scott after the game.
Arizona now sits at 34-36, while Philadelphia falls to 41-28.
