Astros Topple Reds, 5-2, as Bregman Shines
|
The Houston Astros beat the Cincinnati Reds by a score of 5-2. Houston second baseman Alex Bregman deserved the lion's share of the credit. Bregman went 3-3 with a home run, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2 for the Astros. The winning pitcher was Bill Black. He's now 8-1. He went 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 3 hits for the Astros. Getting the save was Mark López, his 22nd.
In the bottom of the third, Julián Silva hit a 2-run double. The 13th double of the season for the Houston first baseman put the Astros on top, 3-2.
"I like the roll we're on," said Houston manager Adrian Beltre.
The third-place Astros have won 4 consecutive games.
