9-0 Win Gets Portland to 14-14
|
The Portland Sea Dogs topped the New Hampshire Fisher Cats by the score of 9-0, with the biggest share of the credit going to center fielder Bryce Perkins. Perkins went 2 for 3 with a triple and a walk, while scoring 2 runs for the Sea Dogs on the day. Portland reliever Paul Richan picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Johnny Corrigan shouldered the loss. New Hampshire falls to 11-17.
Alonso Flores dealt the Fisher Cats a blow in the bottom of the third. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Portland leading 1-0, Flores, who is tied for 3rd in the EL in triples with 2, hit a 0-1 curveball for a 2-run single.
"Enjoyed this one," Flores told the Portland Chronicle. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
