Reading and Altoona got after it at Peoples Natural Gas Field.

The Reading Fightin Phils topped the Altoona Curve by the score of 10-0, with the largest share of the credit going to left fielder Edwin Griffin. Griffin went 2-5 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 3 times and driving in 3 for the Fightin Phils. Karl Kauffmann recorded the save for Reading, his 1st of the season.

Werner Schneider, the 24-year old first baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Schneider contributed a run-scoring walk in the top of the fourth inning to put Reading up, 2-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Reading manager Nestor Rojas.

The win puts Reading at 16-12.
