Reading took on Altoona in front of a lively crowd.

The Reading Fightin Phils downed the Altoona Curve, 8-2. The hitting star was third baseman Marty Deeks. Deeks went 3 for 4 with a triple, 2 doubles, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2 for the Fightin Phils. With the win, Reading has a record of 16-14. Altoona falls to 15-15.

With Reading leading 1-0 in the top of the third, Deeks hit a fastball from Chris Walton for a run-scoring triple. It was his 1st triple of the season and put the Fightin Phils ahead, 2-0.

"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Reading manager Nestor Rojas.
