There was no shortage of dramatics at Wrigley Field.
The Chicago Cubs had to overcome a fine effort from Los Angeles pitcher Paul Erickson to grab a narrow 5-4 win at Wrigley Field. Erickson went 7.1 innings and allowed 2 runs. Chicago reliever Christopher Hanna got the win, raising his record to 3-2. Armando Romero was tagged with the loss.
The game was decided with one out in the bottom of the ninth. With Chicago trailing 4-3, Noelvi Marte hit a fastball from William Main to right for a 2-run single. Just like that, the Cubs had a walk-off win.
"This place was rockin'," Marte said.
The Cubs' win now puts them at 37-53.
