Phillies Edge Dodgers, 4-3
|
The Los Angeles Dodgers got a sterling performance from pitcher Tyler Glasnow, but the Philadelphia Phillies still prevailed, 4-3. Glasnow threw 5.1 innings of 1-hit ball. The winner was Christian Kissock in relief. His record improves to 1-0. Mauro Dávila took the loss. Orlando García was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 22 of 22 save opportunities.
Had Miguel León not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, León hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Phillies.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said León. "And not try to do too much."
With the win, Philadelphia raised its record to 59-33.
