Twins Collect 5-1 Win Versus Seattle
|
The Minnesota Twins went home winners at T-Mobile Park, thanks in large part to starter John Bauer. Bauer stifled the Seattle Mariners, enabling Minnesota to grab the 5-1 win. Bauer picked up the win for Minnesota, going 5 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 7-7. The first-place Twins, at 58-37, now lead their division by 11½ games.
The Twins got a big hit from shortstop Brendan Rodgers. In the top of the sixth, Rodgers pounded a 2-run home run to left. His 9th home run of the season put the Twins ahead, 4-0.
"We were the better team today. Maybe that won't be the case next game, but we'll enjoy it for now," Bauer told the Minnesota Observer.
