The Richmond Flying Squirrels ushered in the 2024 season with a win versus the Portland Sea Dogs at The Diamond. The final score was 3-2. Starting Pitcher Jordan Wicks had a standout performance. Rafael Pérez picked up the save, his 1st.

Conner Uselton aided the Richmond cause with a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the right fielder was 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs.
