Brandon Soleimani helped his team muscle past the Tampa Bay Rays, 7-6. In the game, the Cincinnati center fielder was 3 for 5 with a home run, a triple, and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3. Cincinnati reliever Hideaki Hirata picked up the win, upping his record to 5-3. Brian Chan absorbed the loss. Víctor Mejía earned his 5th save in 6 chances.

Soleimani had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch cutter from Brian Chan, he banged a 2-run double to left, giving the Reds a 7-6 lead. It was the 20th double of the year for Soleimani.

"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Soleimani, "one at-bat at a time."
