SeaWolves Clip Flying Squirrels in Tight Contest, 1-0
|
The Erie SeaWolves topped the Richmond Flying Squirrels, 1-0, in Eastern League action at Jerry Uht Park. The standout performance belonged to Erie pitcher and Olive Branch, Mississippi, native Kendall Williams. Richmond now has a 7-game losing streak.
Carlos Acevedo was the walk-off hero for Erie. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the SeaWolves designated hitter hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"It was a solid team effort," said Acevedo after the game.
