Boston and Washington duked it out and the Red Sox came out victorious.

The Red Sox grabbed a win, 7-5, at Nationals Park, overcoming a fine effort from Washington pitcher Edward Reith. Reith went 6.2 innings and allowed 3 runs. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Red Sox.

Boston took a 7-5 lead on Dave Allen's 29th double of the season. The bases-clearing double, which Allen hit in the top of the ninth, left Washington pitcher Ethan Reed shaking his head.

"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Allen.
