The Altoona Curve stopped the Portland Sea Dogs, 6-3, at Peoples Natural Gas Field. The Curve got a big game from Mark Hinton, who went 4-4 with a home run, a triple, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. George Clark, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 12th save. The win elevated the Curve to 25-19.
The Curve got a big at-bat from second baseman Casey Martin. For the game, Martin went 1 for 4 with a double, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 6th double of the season gave Altoona a 3-2 lead.
Martin attributed the win to his team's "focus and intensity."
