Copeland Hits 2 home runs in Mariners Win
|
The Seattle Mariners beat the Tampa Bay Rays by a score of 6-3. Seattle designated hitter Gary Copeland deserved the lion's share of the credit. Copeland belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice for the Mariners. With the victory, the Mariners upped their record to 85-55.
Copeland had a timely hit for Seattle in the top of the seventh. With Tampa Bay trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-2 changeup into a grand slam home run. It was his 5th home run of the season, making it 6-3, Seattle.
"I like our moxie," said Mariners manager Joe Inglett.
