The exploits of left fielder Jordan Walker, who is tied for 10th in the AL with a .516 slugging percentage, helped the Chicago White Sox defeat the Detroit Tigers, 5-0. Walker was 2 for 4 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Chicago pitcher Julian Gompertz got the win, upping his record to 2-2. Matthew Liberatore got the loss. At 76-67, Chicago is in third place in the American League Central.
In the top of the first of a scoreless game, Walker hit a 3-run home run to put his team ahead.
"The hot tub feels extra good after a solid win," said Walker.
