Braves Take Down Phillies, 6-2
|
The Philadelphia Phillies got a superb performance from pitcher Luis Gohara, but the Atlanta Braves still won the game, 6-2. Gohara threw 8.0 innings of 4-hit ball. With the win, the Braves have a record of 92-52.
Atlanta relied on the hitting of Taylor Sparks to pick up the win. The third baseman clubbed a run-scoring single in the top of the 11th inning to put the Braves on top, 3-2. For the game, Sparks had 1 home run and 2 singles in 5 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Sparks said.
