Twins center fielder Martín López put his stamp on his team's 8-1 win over the Chicago White Sox. López hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for Minnesota in the contest. The Twins, at 93-55, have a comfortable 17½-game lead in their division.

Minnesota used the bat of Chad Howard to get the win. The catcher hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Twins ahead, 3-1. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
