Tight Tilt Goes to SeaWolves, 3-2
|
Erie SeaWolves starter Ricky Vanasco turned in a top-notch performance against the Akron RubberDucks at Canal Park. The result was a win for the SeaWolves, 3-2. Vanasco picked up the win for Erie, going 8 innings. He gave up 2 runs on 7 hits. He now sports a record of 4-3. The SeaWolves, now 22-26, know that wins in May count the same as wins in September.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Lorenzo Serna? The Erie catcher had a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the SeaWolves on top, 2-1. For the game, Serna had 1 double and 1 single in 3 at-bats.
Serna said his team "played with determination."
