The Reading Fightin Phils defeated the Harrisburg Senators, 5-4, in Eastern League action at FirstEnergy Stadium. Reading pitcher Danny Jeremiah had a standout performance. Reading reliever Cody Poteet picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Cristián Martínez absorbed the loss. Willie Howard recorded the save for Reading, his 1st of the season.

Álex Sandoval had an important at-bat with no one out in the bottom of the third, when he hit a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season put Reading on top, 4-1.

"We put a lot of pressure on ourselves," Jeremiah told a Reading Daily News reporter. "Sometimes we just need to relax."

The win leaves Reading with a record of 2-3.
