Rainiers Get Past Reno for 1-0 Win
The Tacoma Rainiers started the 2024 season win an impressive 1-0 win against the Reno Aces at Cheney Stadium. Owen White led the way for Tacoma. Sam Smith earned save number 1 this season.

Canaan Smith-Njigba drove in one run for Tacoma. The 24-year old left fielder had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Gregg Marmaro. It was his 1st RBI of the season.

"Feels good to get the job done," Smith-Njigba said after the game.
