Tight Tilt Goes to Grizzlies, 2-1
|
Crowds lined up early in front of Chukchansi Park, eagerly awaiting the start of the 2024 Pacific Coast League season. On the mound was Diego Quintana for the visiting Sacramento River Cats and Garrett Crochet for the hometown Fresno Grizzlies. In a spirited contest, the Grizzlies pulled out the win, defeating the River Cats by the score of 2-1. Especially impressive was Diego Quintana. Fresno reliever Michel Baez picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Gilbert Roe absorbed the loss.
Dave Carmera helped out the Fresno cause in the bottom of the sixth inning with a run-scoring single. For the game, the third baseman went 1 for 4.
"Enjoyed this one," Carmera told the Fresno Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
