Aviators Get One-Run Win at El Paso
|
The Las Vegas Aviators defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas, 4-3, in Pacific Conference action at Southwest University Park. Las Vegas pitcher Ryan Wilson had a standout performance. Austin Cox collected his 1st save. The win takes Las Vegas to 2-2.
Las Vegas used the timely hitting of Mike Poor to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Aviators ahead, 4-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Las Vegas manager Casey Kopitzke. "It's usually not just one thing."
