Tacoma starter Javier García put a stranglehold on the Albuquerque offense. The right-hander had complete command of his slider in leading the Rainiers to a 6-1 win. Getting the save was Sam Smith, his 2nd. Tacoma, now 6-2, is setting the league on fire so far.

Tacoma relied on the hitting of Mike Beckwith to pick up the win. The first baseman clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Rainiers on top, 3-1. For the game, Beckwith had 1 home run and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

Beckwith said his team "played with focus."
