Dodgers Drop Wind Surge, 6-1, with Late Score

The Oklahoma City Dodgers faced a tough opponent in Wichita pitcher Alex Calipari, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark by a final score of 6-1. Calipari went 7 innings and allowed no runs. Michael Byrne notched the win in relief. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 2 innings. His record now sits at 2-1. Oklahoma City, at 30-21, is 2 games up in the American Conference North.
Had Mike Flynn not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 1st and 2nd, Flynn hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 2-1, in favor of the Dodgers.
"We played a good game and came out on top," said Flynn.
