Rainiers Earn 2-1 Win Against Aces
Reno got a terrific performance from pitcher Tyler Skaggs, but it wasn't enough to beat the Tacoma Rainiers. Tacoma won the Cheney Stadium contest, 2-1. Skaggs threw 8.0 innings of 3-hit ball for the losing team. Christian Roa came out of the bullpen to earn the win. The right-hander allowed no runs on no hits in 1.1 innings. His record now stands at 3-3. Tacoma has now won 4 straight.

The Rainiers procured the win, in large part because of designated hitter Jesse Ray. In the bottom of the tenth, he produced the game-winning run-scoring single.

"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Tacoma manager Blake Davis said.
