Rainiers Pull Even With 6-3 Victory
|
A 3-RBI performance from left fielder Canaan Smith-Njigba led the Tacoma Rainiers to a win over the Salt Lake Bees, 6-3. Carson Seymour got the win, improving to 1-1. He held the Bees to 2 runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 3 and walking 3. Cole Kelley notched his 7th save in 7 chances.
Jesse Ray, the 24-year old catcher , had a direct impact on the outcome. Ray contributed a 2-run single in the top of the eighth inning to put Tacoma up, 6-3.
"Where are all my critics now?" said Ray. "Tell them they know where to find me."
Tacoma is second in the Pacific Conference North with a record of 31-31.
