Getting an impressive start from José López, Omaha beat El Paso by the score of 4-2. López went 8 innings to notch the win. He scattered 7 hits, walked 3, and struck out 2. His record improves to 7-6. The Storm Chasers lead the American Conference North by 2½ games.
Omaha used a timely hit from JT Schwartz to get the win. The pinch hitter stroked a 2-run double in the top of the seventh inning to put the Storm Chasers ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit in 2 at-bats, but it made an impact.
In postgame comments to the Omaha Times, López said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
