Sky Sox Come Up Short at El Paso, 5-4
|
The inspired effort of Colorado Springs left fielder Everson Pereira was not enough to prevent a loss, 5-4, to the El Paso Chihuahuas. Pereira went 2-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. The second-place Chihuahuas improved to 57-55.
The Chihuahuas got a big at-bat from designated hitter Donald Robinson. For the game, Robinson was 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the third, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 4th home run of the season gave El Paso a 4-2 lead.
"It was a good effort all around," said Robinson.
