In a low-scoring affair between the Reno Aces and the Sacramento River Cats, pitcher Jared Kelly was the difference between victory and defeat. The Reno right-hander earned accolades in the 3-2 Aces win. John Mason earned his 6th save in 8 chances. The Aces raised their record to 50-72.
Reno used a clutch hit from Barrett Wilson to get the win. The catcher drilled a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Aces ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Reno manager Jose Valentin.
