Storm Chasers Shut Out Cubs, 7-0
|
The Omaha Storm Chasers picked up a win at Werner Park, knocking off the Iowa Cubs, 7-0. Starting pitcher Alvin Tigner was a big reason why. In 6.1 innings, Tigner surrendered 5 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. He allowed no runs. Omaha is now 64-60.
Early in the game, second baseman Junior Sanquintin had a 3-run home run for Omaha. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Storm Chasers on top, 3-0.
"I'm just trying to make good contact," said Sanquintin, "one at-bat at a time."
