Chihuahuas Come Up Short at Tacoma, 5-4
The timely hitting of Allen King helped the Tacoma Rainiers down the El Paso Chihuahuas, 5-4. King was 2 for 3 with a home run. He scored 2 times for the Rainiers. Tacoma reliever Cole Kelley picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Braxton Ashcroft absorbed the loss. El Paso has now lost 4 in a row.

The Chihuahuas had been locked in a 4-4 tie with the Rainiers going into the bottom of the sixth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old left fielder Paul Jackson came to the plate. Jackson hit a solo home run on a 0-1 slider from El Paso hurler Braxton Ashcroft. It was Jackson's 17th home run of the year.

"I was a little disappointed," said El Paso manager Danny Dorn. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
