The Reno Aces bested the Salt Lake Bees, 8-5, at Smith's Ballpark. Steve Vickers was one of the standouts. He was 3 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reno is now 63-79, while Salt Lake is 80-62.

Reno used a well-timed hit by Juan Méndez to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fourth inning to put the Aces ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Méndez told a Reno Bulletin reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
