Flying Squirrels Fall Short, 3-2, at Reading
The Richmond Flying Squirrels got a superb performance from pitcher Armando García. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Reading. The Fightin Phils won the game, 3-2. García threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The win puts Reading at 33-26 this season.

Reading right fielder Edwin Griffin contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a run-scoring single. It was his 47th hit of the season and put the Fightin Phils ahead, 3-2.

"There are no moral victories," said losing manager Chris Tracz.
