6-5 Loss Extends Portland Skid
|
A good performance from designated hitter Jeff Johnson helped the Binghamton Rumble Ponies defeat the Portland Sea Dogs, 6-5. Johnson was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Rumble Ponies. The save went to Gunnar Battle, his 2nd this season. The victory gives Binghamton a record of 39-29.
Johnson had a timely hit for Binghamton in the top of the seventh. With Portland trailing 5-4, he turned a first pitch changeup into a 2-run double. It was his 4th double of the season, making it 6-5, Binghamton.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Johnson.
