The Richmond Flying Squirrels topped the Portland Sea Dogs, 5-3, in Eastern League action at The Diamond. The game was highlighted by the performance of Richmond pitcher Max Duggan. Duggan, now 4-2, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 6 hits, while striking out 5, walking 2, and allowing 3 runs. The win puts Richmond at 45-32 this season.

In the bottom of the first, Darryl Gingras hit a 3-run home run. The 3rd home run of the season for the Richmond designated hitter put the Flying Squirrels on top, 3-2.
